~ Hi ~
Anyhoo, Happy Valentine's Day to you and yours! (And we miss ya just a wee bit, too!)
. . It is good to be reading writings from you again. . & I am very glad that your grandbaby is doing very very well
. . WOW
That would be wayyyyy tooooo much for me to handle! I am glad it all turned out well in the end. .& what a birthday to remember!
I didn't even realize it until the next day, but I was ear witness to a sonic boom Wednesday morning.
From Wikipedia: The term sonic boom is commonly used to refer to the shocks caused by the supersonic flight of military aircraft or passenger transports such as Concorde (Mach 2.03, no longer in service) and the Space Shuttle (up to Mach 27). Sonic booms generate enormous amounts of sound energy, sounding much like an explosion; typically the shock front may approach 167 megawatts per square meter, and may exceed 200 decibels. Thunder is a type of natural sonic boom, created by the rapid heating and expansion of air.
As I said, when I heard it, I had no clue what it was. Logan & I were in the house when we heard, & actually felt it. The whole house shook!
At first I thought maybe there had been a gas explosion down the street, as we've had a whole crew of consturction workers digging up the street for the past couple of weeks. But when I stepped out on the front porch, the crews were going about their business as tho nothing had happened.
Then I checked to make sure no trees had fallen on our house.
I was baffled, but since no damage seemed to be done, I soon forgot about it. It wasn't until the next day that I heard about it on the news.
Apparently when a plane travels too fast, it breaks the sound barrier? IF I'm understanding correctly. At any rate, whatever causes it, a very large SONIC boom is heard & that was what Logan & I heard. It was kind of cool!
What I thought, or at least hoped, was just a a little 24 hour bug, has turned into a tenacious, very nasty & full blown FLU! I've been battling the high fever, waves of chills & queasy stomach for several days & some times I feel like I'm losing the fight!
I thought it had maybe reached its peak yesterday, I was so sick I thought I was gonna DIE! And later last evening it subsided, & I was really, really hoping I was over it. And I think it is on the down hill side now, even tho I'm feeling clammy & chilled right now, at least I'm well enough to be up & sitting at the computer.
I CAN'T be sick this week-end, as we are having a birthday party for grand daughter Brooklyn at the cabin tomorrow. And how can you cancel out on a 7 year olds birthday party??!! You just - CAN'T!!
While we're not celebrating until tomorrow, she turns 7 today
