Beyond the Confines ...
of the day to day life of an average American housewife

a place of intrigueing new friends ...
a world of feelings, hopes, dreams and wishes ...
this is a place for me
... and for you
~ Hi ~
Anyhoo, Happy Valentine's Day to you and yours! (And we miss ya just a wee bit, too!)
. . It is good to be reading writings from you again. . & I am very glad that your grandbaby is doing very very well
. . WOW
That would be wayyyyy tooooo much for me to handle! I am glad it all turned out well in the end. .& what a birthday to remember!
Despite all my safety concerns regarding the pool we've put up at the cabin, with the temps hovering right about 90 the past few days, I'm so glad we've got it up!
It took about 5,000 gallons to fill, & grandkids Lanny & Logan were the first to take the plunge Thursday afternoon when the last of the clean city water was pumped in.

They had a riot! And both of them did real well! 5 year old Logan started out wanting her life jacket on, but when she discovered she could actually touch the bottom of the pool, she had it off & hasn't had it back on since, tho she does hold onto one of the styrafoam noodles whenever she jumps in.
Their mom & I took them & their cousin Brooklyn up on Friday afternoon too & all of us had a great time!

It's our first experience with anything bigger than a wading pool a couple of feet deep, so we're still ironing out kinks.
Father's Day was spent up at the cabin with hubbys daughter, my daughter & her two kids, & hubbys Mom & Dad.
My Dad was in my thoughts & prayers, just as he is every day of the year. I miss him dearly.
Hubby heard from all of our combined six kids, EXCEPT his son J. Which doesn't surprise anyone ... that's just the way he is ... I call it irresponsible. It doesn't seem to bother hubby, but it does bother me a bit. After all hubby has been for him, you would think J could make some kind of effort to recognize him on Father's Day. A phone call to say hi would have been great! Just ... like I said ... some kind of an effort.
WHY, oh WHY do I let that guy bother me so much
!?
We get a lot of sun on the deck & pool in the mornings, so Sunday morning I spent on the raft in the pool, feeling pretty chilled by the cold water, but ended up getting pretty burned. It's pretty much turned to brown now & I really needed the color as, until now, I've been sporting one of them thar H-billy tans that begins below t-shirt level on my arms. I guess a better word for it is a "gardening" tan, LoL!
