a place of intrigueing new friends ...
a world of feelings, hopes, dreams and wishes ...
this is a place for me
... and for you
~ Hi ~
Anyhoo, Happy Valentine's Day to you and yours! (And we miss ya just a wee bit, too!)
. . It is good to be reading writings from you again. . & I am very glad that your grandbaby is doing very very well
. . WOW
That would be wayyyyy tooooo much for me to handle! I am glad it all turned out well in the end. .& what a birthday to remember!
Sometimes, no matter how much spray or lotion you apply, you still walk away with mosquito bites
As was the case last evening up at the cabin. I think the mosquitos, as well as the flys & other obnoxious biting insects, are just more tenacious on the river!
We've been working on leveling a spot off the deck up there to set up the second hand above ground pool we purchased last fall & we're finally making some progress! Hopefully we'll be swimming in it come Sunday when we're celebrating Father's Day.
Hubby was able to get ahold of a guy with a tanker truck (? I think that's what it's called) whose going to meet us this evening to fill it with water. We don't really want to use the well water up there & end up swimming in something that resembles thick orange juice. The well water is so full of rust that we just don't want to fill the pool with it.
I've been a bit leery about the pool up there since we got it. This is our first experience with one, but I've heard they can end up being much more trouble than they're worth. And it worries me, since we don't live up there. Kids somehow getting into it, or even dogs or other animals, even tho we do have a padlocked gate on the deck, you just never know what could happen! But now that it's assembled & ready for water, I'm starting to look forward to.
Last evening we were up there late into the nite & I could envision me jumping into the nice cool water on a hot summer nite, with only the dim deck lites to see by. Of course, the summer days by the lite of the hot summer sun will be fun too.
My babysitting has been made a bit easier, as the summer Sun Dawgs program at the park down the street began this week, so the two older grandkids will be spending a lot of time down there I'm sure. Leaving only the youngest one at home with me.
Poor little Logan was heart broken when I walked her to the park Monday to try to register her, only to be told she was too young to join this year - even tho she will be 6 in August! I had explained to her beforehand there was a possibility that they'd turn her away, but she still took it very hard, as did I. I should have fudged on her age, & had thought seriously about doing just that, but there's no way I could expect her to & I'm sure she'd spill the beans at some point thru the summer.
That's OK, she'll for sure be able to join next year!
Today the fire department will be there with their fire trucks for the kids to explore. Lanny will really enjoy that!
Hubby & I spent Saturday nite up at the cabin & my kids & grandkids came up to celebrate my sons birthday. It was a great time, we grilled steaks & had a good dinner, then cake & ice cream afterward.
