Summer Time!

Sheesh!  I thought I was busy before!?  Things have been CRAZY!

I know it's not officially summer yet,  but it's definitely summer time for me now that the grandkids are out of school.
Looks like another summer of babysitting for me.  This year I've got not only my daughters 2 kids, 8 yr old Lanny & 5 yr old Logan, but my step daughters 7 yr old daughter Brooklyn will be joining the whole zoo this year!
Hubbys daughter is a bit strapped for cash lately as her mom is getting married & moving out, so she will be entirely responsible now for the house payments they used to split, & she wont as easily be able to pay a day care while Brooklyn's out of school.
Lanny & Brooklyn can go down to the park for Sun Dawgs tho to keep them occupied during the days.  Kids have to be 6 to join & Logan will turn 6 in August, but I'm going to see if they'll let her join anyway, I think she'd love it!

It's going to be a real handful!

Things are going great at our place on the river!  I love it!  We've been up there a lot lately.  Thank God hubby is not working as much over time as he was for a long time!

I've got a lot of pictures I've got to get posted on a web album so I can share them.

I do however have some photos I took while we were at my Moms house on the Lake of the Ozarks over the long Memorial Day week-end.

A view of the cove as seen from my moms deck.

the water was much too cold for me, but Logan, Reina & Landon had a riot in it!

Logan & her Uncle Jory

Reina & George sitting on the dock of the bay waiting for her Dad & Logan to get back

Lanny impatiently waiting to go fishing

I think everyone really had a very nice time.  The weather was great, not so hot that we needed the A/C on in the house, but definitely shorts weather.  It did rain off & on a few times, but certainly not enough to put a damper on anything.

I think the kids had a riot, but I tend to lose my patience a bit too much with them lately.  I suppose it's just their age combined with mine that makes it difficult to handle at times.   I SWEAR I will never again say anything to my daughter about how unorganized she is when we take these trips!  Now I KNOW!

I wrote in my last post about Logans little hamster passing away.  Logan wanted to bury her at the lake house, so her mom packed little Ariel in ice & she made the trip with us snuggled in an old ice cream bucket & when we awoke Saturday morning, we had a nice sending off for her at her final resting place, surrounded by beauty & nature

And there is a funny story behind little Ariel resting in peace ...

After a sizeable hole was dug, Logan was given the honor of actually putting Ariel into it.  So she opens the plastic bags full of ice & couldn't find little Ariel!  Not knowing at that time how she had been packed for the trip, I had an uneasy feeling when I couldn't find her either, but I didn't know when we would be getting back to the lake again to bury her, so I reassured Logan that she was in there, but we just couldn't see her, she was probably frozen somewhere at the bottom, you know, stuck in the ice or something.  So we buried the plastic bag & I hoped that Ariel was among the ice.

Sure enough!  Monday morning as I'm packing up the car for our trip back home - who do I FIND!!!!????

YES!  A little box, with a brown fuzzy butt sticking out the pretty cloth she was wrapped in!

Oh YIIIIIIIIIKES    How AWFUL was THAT!!??  DANG!

Hubby hurried & dug into the hole & we buried the real Ariel without even telling the kids, LoL!  I certainly didn't want to suject myself to yet another 5 year old "I told you so  !" if I didn't have to!

So all ended well & Ariel is now resting peacefully among new found furry friends

OK confession time........ I had a hard time not chuckling about poor little Ariel.. sounds like a GREAT episode of Home Improvement ;-)

Also sounds like it was a great weekend too, despite the odd shower (altho those are nice to kinda clear things out too)

As for when the kids start to get on your nerves...... I discovered LONG ago that THATS what they make closets for.

Took em FOREVER to find me.... ;-)

Have a good one Cathy...... Im off to check out the pics!
