... and for you
~ Hi ~
Anyhoo, Happy Valentine's Day to you and yours! (And we miss ya just a wee bit, too!)
. . It is good to be reading writings from you again. . & I am very glad that your grandbaby is doing very very well
. . WOW
That would be wayyyyy tooooo much for me to handle! I am glad it all turned out well in the end. .& what a birthday to remember!
For the next few weeks you can most likely catch me in the yard working & cleaning up. Already my back, legs & even my FEET are killing me!
It's so rewarding tho! Spring is looking very pretty this year! The grass looks beautiful, all thick & green! And I couldn't ask for better spring weather! Typically, we don't see much of a nice spring here. It normally goes from cold to hot, with a few stormy days thrown in, but this year has been excellent!
I didn't keep up with feeding the wild birds this past winter - heck, I didn't keep up with much in my life - but I finally cleaned & filled the feeders this week-end & am enjoying seeing the various birds coming around. I also bought a couple feeders & niger & black oil sunflower seeds to take up to the river this week-end. I have seen yellow finches up there, so I'm hoping I can attract them to the yard. And I'm anxious to see what other kinds of birds are up there.
I also did the spring cleaning of the pond, which was in dire need, as it always is in early spring.
This is before I cleaned it
This is when it was about halfway empty. You can really see all the thick, icky green algae in it. We get a lot of algae thru the winter & early spring when the trees around it are bare allowing the sun to encourage growth.

Here are the 5 goldfish in the Sarah holding tank, LoL!
Only two of them are mine, Princess (the one with white) & Prince (one of the other four). The other three are my daughters & grandkids, but their back yard pond is not deep enough to live in thru the winter, so they were over wintered in my pond.

All done, YAY! And MUCH clearer!
Normally I scrub it thoroughly to get rid of ALL the algae, but this year I decided to leave some in there, as I think the fish like hiding in it & it makes the pond look more natural & prettier.
