Beyond the Confines ...
of the day to day life of an average American housewife

a place of intrigueing new friends ...
a world of feelings, hopes, dreams and wishes ...
this is a place for me
... and for you
~ Hi ~
Anyhoo, Happy Valentine's Day to you and yours! (And we miss ya just a wee bit, too!)
. . It is good to be reading writings from you again. . & I am very glad that your grandbaby is doing very very well
. . WOW
That would be wayyyyy tooooo much for me to handle! I am glad it all turned out well in the end. .& what a birthday to remember!
I just want to say thanks again to those who have left words of support & encouragement in my effort to quit the smoking habit. I have to say that my friends here have really been my greatest source of support. I mean, after all, I would feel rather ashamed, guilty, or at the very least embarrassed if I were to give in now.
You know, I'm very surprised at how many people here at Bravenet have quit smoking! Great big KUDOS to all of you
It seems like it's been quite a struggle the last few days. In fact, the last few mornings, upon waking, I have sat up & actually reached for a smoke
I find myself just automatically, without really thinking about it, walking into another room looking for my smokes before remembering I QUIT!
BUT, I am hanging in there, with all my might!
Here are some pictures I took this past Sunday when we managed to find the time to get the boat out on the river again
here are grandkids Logan & Landon at our house waiting to get the boat on the road

my son Jory, & my hubby
no, those aren't hickies on hubbys back, but bruises from when he took a nose dive off his bicycle recently

we passed the River City Star along the way - it's a really cool boat that takes rides down the river a couple times a day that people can pay to ride on, it comes equipped with a full bar & snacks

tieing up the boat on one of the sandbars we stopped at to cool off

OK, at the time I took this picture, I was focusing on the girls & honestly did not notice Jory mooning the camera! Has he no shame

grandkids Reina, Logan & Landon, & daughter Angie at a park where we stopped to eat a bucket of chicken for lunch

and, of course, each of the grandkids got a turn "driving" the boat
this is sea captain Logan

sea captain Reina

and the best sea captain EVER, Landon

stopping at another sandbar - the temperature that day was 104 (F)

It really was a very fun day! The kids all came away unscathed, I however, am still suffering from the effects of too much sun, too little sun screen
I'm hoping hubby will continue to have Sundays off for awhile & that we can take his son, daughter & grand daughter Brooklyn, maybe even my sister out this Sunday. We'll see ...
The wave runner is now sitting in our driveway, in the hopes that on occasion hubby & I can just take it out in the eves, just the 2 of us, but it's just very hard to find the time, since you figure it takes at least half an hour to drive to water & get it in, another half an hour to get it out of the water & home. But that still gives us an hour or 2 on the water I guess.
Last nite hubby took Landon out to an Omaha Royals baseball game & just had a RIOT! Oh, he had a great time! Then again, spending any time with his "Pops", no matter what they're doing, is a great time for Lanny.
I gave hubby the camera so he could get some pics, but it seems I had forgotten to set it up correctly & had it set to "video mode". Here's what happened when he tried to get a picture, LoL!
The game didn't get over until after 9 PM, so Lanny just stayed the nite at our house. I had to make a bed for him with the couch cushions on the floor in our bedroom since HIS bed, in HIS room is being occupied by stepson
Lannys been going to summer school the past couple of weeks, but he missed today becuz he slept in rather late. So instead he got to down to the park with Sun Dawgs for awhile while his mom was at work, & he really enjoyed that.

Looks like a wonderful time was had by all! These are the times we store away and take out later as happy memories of a wonderful life.
Great pics Cathy....I love the water and seeing pictures of such happiness, it makes me happy too:)Glad you all had fun...
